b'Master Plan Membership PresentationIntroductionFounded in 1912, Lakewood Country Club has, for more than a century, been celebrated as one of the preeminent private country clubs in NorthTexas. From the original architectural vision cast by Tom Bendelow in 1912, through various renovations by Ralph Plummer (1947), Leon Howard (1960s), Ron Pritchard (1980s), and most recently Coore and Crenshaw (beginning in 1991), Lakewood has continuously shown a commitment to providing the best possible golf experience to our Membership. In 2019, the relationship with Coore and Crenshaw ended and the journey to select a new architect of record to set the vision for the future of golfatLakewood began.In the fall of 2021, the Golf Course Master Planning Committee was formed by the Board of Governors with the mission of identifying and Passionate enthusiasm for partnering with Lakewood and committed aligning Lakewood Country Club with a new architect of record withto a long-term relationship.several criteria in mind, including:A reputation for providing detailed drawings and specifications as well as providing detailed golf course maintenance guidelines.Experience with projects in the North Texas climate/growing conditions.Possessing a practical design approach that takes into accountA reputation for providing supervision on site throughoutvolume of play, membership dynamics and preferences, as well as improvementprojects. thehistory and traditions of Lakewood Country Club.5'
